Abstract: A 10 month old male goat was presented to kalika vet clinic, Bharatpur-17, Chitwan ,Nepal with the history of swelling in the left hind leg on the outer aspect of thigh region.Key word: Coenurus gaigeri- thigh of goat, surgical management
Introduction:
Clinical examination:
- rectal temperature:102*F
Physical examination:
- revealed a large fluctuating fluid filled bladder with distended dimension.On aspiration clear fluid was observed and was confirmed to be a cyst.
Treatment:
- surgery was done to remove cyst after separating it from muscle attachment.
-Gauze dipped in Betadin solution was kept in surgical wound to remove dead space.
-postoperatively streptopenicillin,meloxicam,matemar225 (oxyclozanide) ,dermex and Brotone was given.
Diagnosis:
parasitological examination reveals Coenurus gaigeri cyst, intermediate stage of T.multiceps.
